One question that I keep getting asked as I run for City Council in District 2 is, "Why am I running?"

The short answer is that I am running because I want to make Fremont the best it can be and my opponent is not doing what is needed to make that happen.

Let me explain.

We need to reduce homelessness in Fremont
The latest point in time count shows that the unhoused population is up 6% in Fremont over the last two years. During that same period it is down 13% across all of Alameda County. Clearly what we are doing is not working, yet my opponent's response is to keep doing the same thing and expecting a different result.

Public safety remains a top issue
Everyone should feel safe in our city, yet our Police Department remains chronically understaffed and our Firefighters and Paramedics are going on their second year without a contract. Our first responders deserve better.

Traffic Safety

When asked about the top issues facing our district, my opponent included maintaining support for Vision Zero. Vision Zero is the program that has reimagined our roads by removing turn lanes, narrowing driving lanes, and all the other changes that have made traffic worse. The goal was to reduce traffic fatalities to zero, which is a goal the city should pursue. The problem is, according to the city website, traffic fatalities are up since we started the program. The two years before we started Vision Zero (2014 & 2015) saw 16 fatalities. The most recent two years (2024 & 2025) saw 19 fatalities.

We need to stop and understand the root cause of those fatalities and address it directly, rather than blindly continuing to do more of the same.

I have clear plans for all of these issues.

I hope you will support me in the upcoming election.
